... all that we love.
You live your life, you enjoy it, you're happy and you know it'll end some day and you're fine with it. People die, you're sorry, feel empathy but it's so far away. You're armoured with your happy life, blinded by it. And then it just happens. Life takes something dear and close from you. Your armour breaks and what was unreachable before, now pierces your heart painfully with the sword of sadness and loss.
On February 24th 2015, my dear stepgranny (my stepdad's mum) passed away after a long and merciless battle with cancer. She defeatet it still in young age but two years ago it came back the third time and not even chemo could stop it from entering her whole body. She wa such a strong and lively woman and that's the picture I'll keep in mind, not what cancer had made of her.
I dedicated this picture to her. Donkey's were her favourite animal so the donkey ressembles her. And that dog is my dear Shiba Inu who passed away two years ago also from cancer. I still miss her so much but as loving and loyal she was, she'll wait for me till all eternity. I personally don't believe in heaven but I do believe that our souls don't simply die with our bodies. I don't know what happens, I don't even understand death to be honest, but in one way or the other, love filled souls will find again. Someday. Somewhere. And while waiting for me, my Shiba's soul will accompany and protect my stepgranny. That's the idea behind the picture. Oh, and I tried something new on this one. Even though it doesn't look like it, it took me ages to draw...

I know it has been a while, but I'm sorry for your loss. It's beautiful that when something or someone is taken away, that you create something, even if it doesn't really fill the gap. I think it's important, even when people disagree, or they don't know what to do, that everyone still tries to fill up the world with beauty, because even when things can always get worse, there's only more room for "worse" because we can make it just a little better by bringing out the beauty. Only when all beauty is destroyed can it be the very worst of all and can't get worse; but when all beauty is destroyed, there is nothing even left.
